From “사장님이 미쳤어요” to Social Shopping: Meet Crazy Sajangnim
Online shopping is convenient, but it often feels like a solo experience. You find something you like, add it to your shopping list, and then wonder: “Is this actually worth buying?”
I built Crazy Sajangnim to bring the social side of shopping online.
Crazy Sajangnim combines designer-fashion sale discovery with a community blog. Shoppers can explore discounted items from Korean and U.S. retailers, share what they are considering, ask for feedback, exchange styling ideas, and interact with other people who love fashion.
The name comes from the Korean phrase “사장님이 미쳤어요,” which roughly translates to “The boss has gone crazy.” It is a playful expression commonly associated with discounts so generous that the shop owner must be crazy to offer them. That familiar piece of Korean sale culture became the inspiration for a platform built around discovering worthwhile fashion deals.
What makes Crazy Sajangnim different is its co-shopping experience. Instead of browsing and deciding alone, you can:
🛍️ Discover discounted designer fashion
💬 Get feedback on your shopping list
📸 Share fashion finds and styling ideas
🤝 Discuss fit, value, and purchasing decisions
🌎 Connect with fashion enthusiasts across different markets
My goal is to make online shopping feel more like shopping with friends: discover the deal, share your choices, and decide together.
I’d be interested to know: Would feedback from a fashion community make you more confident about an online purchase?

The name origin is a fun detail, most fashion apps skip the cultural context behind the concept entirely. To answer your question directly, yes, feedback from a community would make me more confident, but only if the people giving it actually shop the same retailers. Generic size or style opinions from strangers are easy to ignore. A community tied to specific Korean and U.S. retailers you already track would carry more weight than a general fashion forum. Are you leaning toward smaller curated groups around specific retailers, or one big shared feed for everyone?
I’m leaning toward one big shared feed for everyone. Since Crazy Sajangnim connects Korean and U.S. retailers, I want the community to help shoppers discover brands, deals, styling ideas, and perspectives beyond the stores they already know. As the community grows, I may add retailer-specific filters or groups, but I’d like the main experience to feel like one shared space where everyone can shop and exchange advice together.
Switched to the Korean market to browse and the styles are noticeably different from US trends, that was fun to explore.
Honest thought on the social side: sharing with friends sounds better to me than strangers, because friends already know my style. A stranger with great taste might have taste that just doesn't match mine. An invite-a-friend feature could solve that, and it would probably help growth too since people would bring their own circle in.
Love the brand name concept, though I have to admit I could never say it out loud to invite a friend, my tongue doesn't twist that way haha
